Safe and Caring Membership

Membership Benefits

  • When an issue is produced, members receive a copy of the newsletter by email, or receive a link to the part of the website that houses the newsletter. Niska News is published three times a year.
  • Members receive notices for SACSC workshops and training, conferences and events. Any member is welcome to provide input towards scheduling and adapting workshops and training sessions, or to request training in another city. (providing sufficient interest)
  • Members may sit on SACSC steering committee or run for positions on our Board of Directors. They are also entitled to attend and vote at the Society’s Annual General Meetings. Any member may request copies of committee minutes if he/she is unable to attend meetings.
  • All members are welcome at the SACSC Planning meetings and contribute to shaping the programs, projects and resources that the Society develops. Our members set SACSC policy and determine the direction that the Society moves in. They ensure that their interests and needs, as well as those of the youth in their lives, are met through SACSC programs and projects.

The Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities is a provincial organization and strives to support youth, and the adults in their lives, across Alberta. Your support and a donation will help SACSC continue to provide consultation support to children and youth in their schools at home and in the community.

It is the goal of the Society for Safe and Caring Schools and Communities that every school, city, town, and community will be safe, caring and inclusive. To help all Alberta schools implement SACSC programs, the Society would like to provide all of its resources online free for anyone to use. As a result, even schools with low budgets will have the opportunity to transform their schools into safe and caring places. There are also SACSC community resources and workshops available to help build safe and caring communities. This is a big project, but with the help of our sponsors and partners, the Society is on the path to reaching its goals. Since the Society does not make a profit on any of its resources, programs, projects or workshops, it relies completely on its funders and supporters for its programs and projects.
